Our organization is committed to protecting the privacy of its clients, employees, volunteers, board members, agencies, donors, and other stakeholders. The Source for Women values the trust of those we serve, those we're served by, and of the public, and we recognize that maintaining this trust requires that we be transparent and accountable in how we treat the information that you choose to share with us. 

Anyone from whom we collect personal information should expect that it will be carefully protected and that any use of or other dealing with this information is subject to consent. Privacy Practices



Your right to privacy is very important to us. Personal information gathered by our organization is kept in confidence. Safeguards are in place to ensure that the information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was gathered.

We recognize that providing us with personal information is an act of trust, and employ measures to ensure the integrity of this information is maintained and to prevent its being lost or destroyed. 

We collect, use and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the circumstances. We routinely offer individuals we deal with the opportunity to opt not to have their information shared for purposes beyond those for which it was explicitly collected.


Scope

This Legal Notice applies to the thesourceforwomen.org website offered by The Source for Women or its subsidiaries or affiliated companies. It does not, however, apply to entities that The Source for Women does not own or control, such as applications and websites integrated with or linked to by The Source for Women. By using or accessing thesourceforwomen.org, you agree to our privacy practices and terms of use.

Your Personal Information

In general, when you visit our website and access information you remain anonymous. We do not require you to register or provide personal information to us to view our website. You do have an option to provide us with your personal information, and if you choose to do so we collect contact information and credit card or bank account information. Similarly, we collect information on individuals who may volunteer services or attend events sponsored by or affiliated with The Source for Women.

Information We Collect and How We Use It


Information you provide

When you contact The Source for Women, we may ask you for personal information such as your name, e-mail address, physical address, status, etc., in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services.

Transactional information

One of the primary reasons people use The Source for Women is to receive and provide women's health care services. We may retain the details of interactions you make via thesourceforwomen.org in order to provide better service and information. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as social security numbers.

When you enter your credit card information into a form field on thesourceforwomen.org your credit card information is encrypted and transmitted securely to The Source for Women or to our third party processor. Neither The Source for Women nor our third party processor stores your credit card information on a permanent basis; your credit card information is only used for the duration of the transaction and is then deleted from our records.

Cookies

When you visit thesourceforwomen.org, we send one or more cookies (small pieces of data we store for an extended period of time on your computer, mobile phone, or other device) as does virtually every site on the Internet. Internet Protocol address



An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We collect an IP address from all visitors to our website. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our website, analyze usage trends, track users' interactions with the website, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the website, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Server logs

When you access thesourceforwomen.org services via a browser, application or other client, our servers automatically record certain information. These server logs may include information such as your web request, your interaction with thesourceforwomen.org, Internet Protocol address, device type, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify or your browser or your account.

User communications

When you send email or other communications to The Source for Women, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services. We may use your email address to communicate with you about our services.

Partners and third party applications

We may institute programs with partners and other websites in which they tell us how users respond to the presentation of information we share. This data sharing, commonly known as "conversion tracking", helps us measure our effectiveness and improve the quality of the website you see. The Source for Women may make available third party applications, such as social media plugins or remote script libraries or other feature extensions, through its services. Information collected by the third party application provider is governed by their privacy policies.

Other sites

This Legal Notice applies only to the services and functions supported by thesourceforwomen.org. We do not exercise control over the external sites which may be linked to or which may offer integrated feature or assets. These other sites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personal information from you.

We use the information we collect to try to provide a safe, efficient, and customized experience. We use the information we collect to provide our services and features to you, to measure and improve those services and features, and to provide you with customer support.

The Source for Women processes personal information on our servers in the United States.

HIPAA Compliance

The Source for Women keeps your health information private. We believe everyone has the right to privacy regarding personal health care information.

Parental permission is not required to receive services from us.

The Source for Women has reviewed the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) to ensure full and timely compliance of our systems and procedures with applicable requirements.

The privacy and security provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) require us to:

  • Make sure any health information which identifies you is kept private
  • Make available this notice of our legal duties and privacy practices pertaining to your health information
  • Follow the terms of the legal notice currently in effect
  • The Source for Women has reviewed the Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable
  • Health Information promulgated by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) pursuant to HIPAA and is complying with these regulations for impacted services.

This notice applies to all records generated or received by The Source for Women, whether we document the health information or another provider shares it with us.


Choices

While your email address may be required to register for certain features on thesourceforwomen.org, remember that you do not have to share your email address with anyone.

Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

Information sharing by The Source for Women

The Source for Women only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of The Source for Women in the following limited circumstances: We have your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information.

We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on our behalf. If The Source for Women becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we may transfer your information to the new owner so that the service can continue to operate. In such a case, we will ensure the confidentiality of any personal information involved in such transactions and provide notice before personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Information security

The Source for Women makes no guarantee against unauthorized access to any information you provide.

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to The Source for Women developers and employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Accessing and updating personal information

When you use supportthesource.org, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and the ability to delete or modify such data on demand if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Enforcement

The Source for Women regularly reviews its compliance with this Legal Notice. When we receive formal written complaints, it is our policy to contact the complaining user regarding their concerns. We will cooperate with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including relevant data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that cannot be resolved between The Source for Women and an individual.

Changes to this Legal Notice

Please note that this Legal Notice may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Legal Notice without your explicit consent. We will post any Legal Notice changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Legal Notice changes).
